No, because smart TV apps run directly on the TV itself and there is no video signal passing through the sync box. In order for the Sync box to respond to the content on your TV screen, the content must pass through the sync box via an HDMI input via an external device. 

If you want to use the WiZ HDMI sync box with your Smart TV, you need to play the videos from an HDMI device i.e. streaming stick, set-top box or laptop.
